Lycos: The Internet of Things: Ring
Wikipedia defines the Internet of Things as the network of physical objects or "things" embedded with electronics, software, sensors, and network connectivity, which enables these objects to collect and exchange data.[1]
So, I don't often get excited about things like this, mainly because I've been involved in the development of some very innovative things since the Internet's inception. But today I got excited about something I found on the Lycos website.
Lycos is featuring an IoT item that they are calling "The Smart Ring."
And this attractive ring is made for those of you who have a horrible time remembering your passwords.
Yep. Their site says: "With Security Manager, you can manage all your passwords and security PINs clubbed into a single PIN on your mobile device, which can be unlocked using your Smart NFC Ring.
It also says that the ring can Lock/Unlock Your Devices, or it can add another layer of security to your various mobile devices by boosting your security with the usage of your Smart Ring to lock or unlock your device.
I'd say that this would be a great stocking stuffer! It works on both iOS and Android, comes in six colors and It retails at $59.99.
