Top Web Hosting Providers (WHP)

In the March 2014 version of Website Magazine (WM) they posted an article of the Top 100 Web Hosting Providers according to three categories: cost, features and support. (See original article at: http://www.websitemagazine.com/content/blogs/posts/pages/web-hosting-100-matrix.aspx.)

I am not endorsing these choices, as I had BlueHost and I thought the customer service was one star. They brought down my website, without warning, three times due to their software updates. When I asked to be reimbursed for the downtime — they didn't even respond.

On the other hand, I LOVE NetworkSolutions and use them for all of my Domain Name registration.

Notwithstanding, as to the quality of these choices, I think that there are some omissions, such as SquareSpace.com

WM listed these as their top 10:

1. GoDaddy.com
2. 1and1.com
3. Web.com
4. HostGator.com
5. Bluehost.com
6. NetworkSolutions.com
7. DreamHost.com
8. Rackspace.com
9. iPage.com
10. Register.com

As the article says, there are so many different WHP for the 180 million websites that are on the Internet, which means that there were 180 million decisions that had to be made to lead to the choice of a provider. I personally use SquareSpace.com, because of their beautiful design sense, ease of use, great interface, flawless mobile integration, amazing tutorials and 5-star customer support. There's also a great companion "Dummy" book for their various releases. Their cost is not cheap, but I always go on the side of quality — and I give them 5-stars.
