  • Uber is planning to prove that cars can fly. According to the Wall Street Journal (WSJ) in a recent Dallas conference, Uber intends to start testing flying cars. Hey! George Jetson, here we come! The intended test places will be near Dallas and Dubai. This news comes after a white paper that Uber released last October. Uber says that part of their mission statement is to lower commute times and transportation costs at the same time. An Uber spokesperson said that one day the cost of a transport could be as little as $1.32 per passenger per mile.
  • Microsoft recently released new information on laptop design. On May 2, 2017, Microsoft released their plans on a "streamlined" version of the laptop of the future. The WSJ said it is, " . . . a sleek, lightweight laptop that it sees competing with Apple's MacBook Air. The new Surface Laptop, which starts at $999 and comes in four colors, is a bit lighter and thinner than Air, and has slightly longer battery life at 14.5 hours . . ."
  • Google tries to curtail sites selling fake news. According to the WSJ Google has been working on a process to prevent sites from spuing fake news. "Ensuring that fake news doesn't surface in search requires 'more structural' changes to the way search works, including tweaks to the algorithm that determines which search results appear on top, Google said in a blog post announcing the changes . . ." Google didn't say much more than that. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
  • Twitter sues the Department of Homeland Security for their attempt to pressure Twitter to unmask the identity of who was behind a criticism of the Trump administration. After Twitter declared its suit DHS rescinded the summons the next day. God bless America!
