Net Neutrality Yet Again, Again, Again . . . how many times do I have to write about this? . . .

Because Net Neutrality has resurfaced again and this time it's existence is much more possible because EVERYONE IS ASLEEP.

COME ON!

Are you getting in touch with your legislators, both national and local — and are you incensed yet? Do you understand what this all means? I don't think you do. I don't think anyone does.

Stop hitting the AGREE BUTTON! Start getting on top of the FCC, go to WWW.FCC.GOV/COMMENTS and tell them that they had better do something about this. If you don't then you will be paying for your Cable like it is a Mortgage payment.

Again, here's my definition of Net Neutrality:

What is "Net Neutrality?"

Net neutrality should be thought of as a super highway, where you consider the whole highway as the Internet. OK?

So, all the cars can travel on that highway to get to where they are going. Then, one day, someone decides that the far left passing lane can only be used by certain people, let's say those who are driving BMW's. And also let's say that Verizon is the one who can say who can drive on that choice lane because BMW gives them money to be able to do that.

That's "Net Neutrality."

But there is nothing "neutral" about it.  The Verizons and the Comcasts of this world are trying and trying to wear Congress down to get them to agree to this.  And they are very near to doing that. They go back, year after year, to try to get this passed.  And so, if you do not let the FCC or your Congress persons (both Representatives and Senators) know that you are adverse to this, then it will happen and you will be in the BMW — paying to get to drive in the fast lane.

Do something about it and let the FCC know how you feel about that, just send them an email.

BTW: The FCC doesn't make leaving a comment an easy thing — shame on them, they should be communication experts.

And yet, I bet those same companies play a different game in the Asian and European markets.

They had to stop making you sign long term contracts at ridiculously high rates recently, which is a good sign. The competition said, `hey, come over here and we will payoff your early termination fee, give you a phone and not make you sign a contract and charge you a sane fee for data and cellular service` lol I had a lot of fun with that one when I called my verizon wireless rep and hit her with that. Great post Bob, people need to be informed that they have the real power, we're the ones giving our (hard to come by these days) cash.
